about

H.A.I.T.I. OSAKA

Many reasons for this song

1. It's black history month and you can't mention Freedom without mentioning Haiti.

2. Carnival season is coming up and this is my first Carnival song.

3. (FreeFree) This is a new genre of music I'm starting mixing Rara Haitian music + Drill drums = FreeFree

4. Named it Naomi Osaka 大坂なおみ because I love her warrior spirit on the tennis court and she is Haitian and Japanese. BIGYUKI from Japan helped me produce this beat. I've been to Japan many times and it should be on everyone's bucket list of places to visit. It's amazing how a small Island can be in the top 5 economic power in the world. In 2016 I went to Japan then to Haiti one week apart. It made me dream of Haiti and the potential it could've had if European influence didn't Fu*k with it so much.

5. In the beginning of 2019 I became a member of Rara Kamoken. with band leader Jube Altino, Chico Boyer, Jephté Guillaume, and Fanfan Tanbou Rene,
The first time we played was for Wyclef. The sample that I'm using is from one of our rehearsals.

6. Dedicated to the resilience of the African Diaspora.
